Default FORGASS State race # 7 March 17th and 18th at Charlotte RC Raceway, Punta Gorda

Well its the last race of the season. This is our version of
Championship Weekend. Just a few notes for this weekend. The pits area
is on grass, No RV's, Campers etc can be left in park overnight.
Trailers are allowed but no one can spend the night at the park.

This track is in the South County Regional Park. Address is 670 Cooper
Street, Punta Gorda. From I-75 get off exit 164. Take 17 West or turn
left. You must turn left even if you are coming from the South or
North. The road splits into 2 one way lanes, like a y. You will see a
hospital turn left on to Cooper street just before Hospital. Just keep
going straight and the track will be on your left. Here is a like to
park info:

On Sunday we have to start the last qualifier at 9am. Hopefully Mother
Nature will be nice to us. It takes around 2 hours to do a qualifing
round. At 11 am we will do all drawings and raffles then eat lunch.
Then the mains will start at noon. This must be done so the church can
have the least amount of car noise from 11 to noon.

The track will be open Friday for practice. Should be ready by noon.

I will also like to say we will have TV and news press at this event.
Also along with County brass. I am sure we will also have a good size
audience. So lets put on a great show for them.

What hotels are the closest and which are the nicest for families. Do they allow dogs?

DJ,

The best one would be Best Western. Its on the water and is also the closest. Not sure if they allow dogs.

This will be a horsepower rules track. I am guessing but I figure some
of the real fast guys will be pitting during a qualifier. As for me a
slow poke I might make it.

This Sunday we will be having the track open. We will do controled
practice if a lot of drivers show up. I would like to maybe run a
qualifier round if you all would like. Track should be ready by 9am.
We will shut down between 11am and noon. Lunch and pray time. Then re-
open at noon. Track will shut down around 4 to 4:30. Track will be
sugar watered.

If you want some track time, bring $10.00 and your car and have some
fun with us. Be the first to run on this new track!Remember you will
be pitting on grass.

I did not run my car. Still broke from Kissimmee. Lap times for sedan
were ranging from high 18's to low 16's. Only 1 driver had a lap below
16 sec. 1/8th scale was from 17's to low 14's. No one went below 14
seconds. Best lap times: 15.8 for sedan, and 14.1 for 1/8th scale.
Both done by Joe Sumasky.

I want to thank all the drivers for coming out and doing some testing
and we ran a qualifier round. Looking foward to putting on a good show
next week.

Special thanks goes out to Joe Sumasky and Chuck Parsons for there
work on the drivers stand. Its great! Also Jimmy Woods for his hard
work on Saturday and Sunday. Thank You Shane for doing a little of
everything. And my Crew: Gary, Sean, Chris, Jack A, Jack R, Bill and
Carla. Thanks for all your hard work since we started this.
