Thumbs up 6 Minute 19t touring races?

The onroad racers in Jax(Hobby World, asphalt) have started running 6 minute 19t quals and mains. I at first thought they were crazy but the track is a big high speed layout where there is minimal slow areas and believe it or not. the cars are just as fast after 6 minutes as they were at 5. So much for worrying about batteries as they are now.

There is no stock class perse here so when the mention was made that some areas were already running the longer races the guys said let's give it a try so it was.

I guess I was wwwwwrrrrooooooonnnnnnggggg. Its not a battery war at all even with some of the guys still running 3300's. Now I know that a properly setup car with a better driver can run faster times with 3800's but starting next month 4200's will be legal here. Yikes! Bring on the 8 minute races?

My first onroad car had a set of 1000 mah Saft batteries. And we thought those things rocked. Little did we know what would be available today.

6 minute races for stock are happening and well worth it. 19t should be the same story. Hey any chance you could put out a link or some info on the track your talking about, I'd like to check it out.

Here it is. You may have to turn off any pop up blockers to get it.

All our off-road action is 6 mins. we currently run 6 min in tc stock and the question is coming up for 19t. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes to pass within the next year for 19T and mod on a larger level.

6 minutes 19t touring seems to be working for us at Hobby World. I run it the class with the 5800 brushless with 3300 pack from 2 years ago and make time with no problem. It fun to run that long but for running as the last heat and main for the night,(usually around 12 midnight) it takes a toll on you. LOL
