Default 1/10 chassis that takes Lola Body (mini 1/8)

It has been at least 15 years since I have had any place to even start or run my 1/8 on-road nitro cars.

For many years I had wanted a similar car with electric power, and rubber tires. I tried converting one of my old Serpent Impact 235mm cars to electric but could not find all the parts. Even then, with the foam tires, I'd have no place to run the car.

I only recently discovered the Serpent 750e. I know they are selling it for drag racing (of which I have no interest).

Question: Are there other 1/10 cars besides the Serpent 750e that are designed for the Lola body, rather than touring car body? (220 or 200mm?)

This is my Serpent that has become a vintage shelf queen due to no place to run.

This is the Serpent 750e 200mm car. This is what I want to build with rubber tires just for fun, there are many parking lots near me where I could run it. Is Serpent the only maker of a 200mm electric car like this?

I found these HPI wheels that I think would look good. They look kind of like the 1/8 foam wheels I used to run on the Serpent 950 years ago.

This is my Serpent 835; 4-wheel drive 235mm 0.15ci. Only saw 3 races in 2004 and never run since. I'm glad I did not electrify it as it is somewhat of a collectors item now Serpent is not made in Netherland.
Correct me if I'm wrong but no one ever made an electric 235mm class car, correct?

a 4wd 235mm electric car? Not that I'm aware of. 2wd 235mm cars were pretty ubiquitous from the mid-late 90s to early 2000s when they fell out of favor and touring car became the 10th scale onroad class. People still run them, but it'd take a pretty major shift to see them return in a significant way.

While there are electric 235mm pan cars still around (or again, depending on where you are located), they are quite a bit different from nitro cars. Being 2WD only, different suspension, being much lighter, etc. You can look them up here: Pro 10: 235mm Le Mans Prototype Pan Car Discussion
Cannot promise that these cars will actually fit this exact body, or if they are really what you're looking for.

The Serpent is a 200mm touring chassis. There are some 200mm tourers arround, I believe the HPI sprint is also a 200mm

Otherwise you can always get a 190mm electric touring chassis and use some offset wheels or hex adapters to get close to the 200mm but a pro-10 has for sure much better looking bodies.

Serpent 750 and 748 are perfect imo. I have ran the Lola body on them and was quite happy. Infinity if15w is a true 220mm car but nitro only. Easy to custom modify to electric

That is great. Thanks for the link! Seems to be about half the price of the Serpent.

Did or do you have an electric 750?

Looking at my picture of the old 835, I think it needs a good re-build and cleaning, like I did to my old Kyosho:

I can only see two alternatives to the 750 and its ridiculous mass repartition:
  • Edam E-spirit, in the lola configuration (about 220mm)
  • Xpress DR1S (about 200mm)
But you should also know that most of the touring cars can fit under a 200mm lola body like the TS02-E. Shocks are shorter and shorter...

Actually, no, stupid me. I have been out of touch, not been to local track since 2017. I'm still bashing around parking lots with a Tamya TRF417 and it's high shock towers and a TRF419 first edition.
