team kinwald the dirtinator?

  • hi i have a team kinwald the dirtinator motor i took it apart and looked on the armiture but it dient say how many turns it was pplease if you know how many turns it is help me.
  • Like any motor series...It will have a s series of turns and winds...
  • Well bro...Brian had alot of motors with his name attached to them. (D2, D3, D4, D5, etc.) You need to look on the can to spot engraving that states what wind it is. If it isn't on the can, it may be written on the armature itself.

    Good luck.
  • what is the wind of the motor
  • Quote: what is the wind of the motor
Actually........ Turns refers to 11, 12 , 13 turn....... etc.

Winds refers to Single, Double..... etc.

I know. I figured that out from his original post.

What color is the can? What does the label look like? Got a picture? hehe.

  • Probably rubbed off through the years. If it's the original dirtinator motor, that would be at least 7 years old or so.
I remember the turns/winds used to be written on the label, but of course that would be rubbed off in a matter of minutes, especially after a cleaning with some motor spray. If there aren't any numbers on the can or label, you'll need to disassemble the motor and look on the arm itself, there might be some numbers printed or written on one of the stacks. If there aren't any numbers there, you're kinda out of luck unless you've got a picture of the arm, where maybe someone could guess the amount of turns..
  • ive got some pics

  • Ah, the original dirtinator.. that brings back memories!

Can't tell just by looking at the outside of the can, you'll have to open it up and look on the arm to see if theres any writing.
  • Open up the motor and show us the armature the wind is usually writen on it. I had a 13 turn one of those (circa '96)

  • i have opened it up befor and it dosent have anything written on it but could you guys tell me what turn to what turn they had made this motor. could i run this motor with a novak explorer 2
  • they make different turns/winds for every motor...

just try it on the explorer and see if it starts to get hot... the exp 2 has a limit of 15t recommended, but just make sure the esc doesnt get too hot...
  • i know alot of these motors from back in the day.im guessing that its prolly around a 12x2.i had purchased alot of these motors yrs ago and 12x2 was a really common motor...hope this helps.
