Default TC4 Factory Edition Question.........

I'm thinking getting a TC4 Factory Edition, my only thing is I don't like using strapping tape. Is there a way I can use a battery strap instead?

Thanks
RH

Associated makes a battery hold down for the FT TC4, check their site.

I use tape and haven't had any problems if it helps. It's not really much hassle to tape them in at the start of the race, the car is slightly lighter, and there is no chance of chassis tweak from the battery bar.

The battery bar will only cause the car to tweak if it was being pulled from the mounting points. The battery strap only sets on the mounting points and has no force on the chassis. The strap is heavier than tape but I have cut the tape while racing. So it's completely opinion, you make the decision.

You could spend more and get the carbon fiber XRay strap (I currently have one on my car)

Front stand-off is in the hole in front of the tape slot. Rear stand-off is in the tape slot

I just got the FT TC4. Its a nice car but I seen the new Xray T2 and that car is nice. Im going to get it I wish I would have got it first. Its only like $20 or $30 dollors more. I seen them run at the track and they handle great. Ill sale you my TC4 if you want its brand new only raced once 3 days ago. Let me know my email address is [email protected].

CF batt strap

1) not necessarily lighter than a carbon plastic piece
2) is flat, doesnt do much to keep the batteries from coming out, relies more on the bevel of the battery slots
3) is conductive and in freak situations can short the battery
4) at the current cost of CF, it would cost even more, the xray strap set is about $35

the AE strap works, i've been using it for months (average 15-20 packs a week), i've ejected the battery once in this time, and it was because i didnt have my thumbscrew tightened down enough.
