Hello everyone...

I'm not sure where the MINI COOPER body legality started from. However, late last year, Tamiya headquarters discontinued the Mini Cooper RC kits, plastic model kits, and spare body sets. It was done because our licensing agreement with BMW, who also own the MINI brand, ended. We were able to get could our hands on many of these items before the licensing end date. These items have steadily continued to sell out but the Mini Cooper body is still out there. They are just harder to come by. We will look at an official body set for the coming year, but as of now, you can run Mini Cooper bodies if you have them.

Please renew the Mini license! I don't even care about BMW, but I want Mini Coopers!

Thanks Al and see you soon.
This is what I started with
Mini shocks with long ball ends, 3 hole,40wt associated
Black/yellow springs all around
6mm ride height all around
Sway bars red/soft all around
2.5 million Gravity diff silicon.
Camber and toe as per instructions
Mazda 2 body
S-grips tires side walls glued (we go by TCS rules only)

Going too make some more changes this weekend

Hope this help Carl...,,

Just a quick question regarding the classic mini body isn't its scale wrong with the release of the k chassis wouldn't a true 1/10 mini body be for that chassis?

Thanks Fred for the clarification. I still have a few Mini Cooper bodies left so will now have to convert my medium wheelbase M07 back to a long wheel base for the Tamiya race.

I had asked for guidance on this topic as I was told the Mini Cooper body would not be permitted at upcoming TCS race at Jackson. Thanks his rumor is now resolved and long live the Mini!!!!!

Thanks Al. I'll have a gear diff built for the event but starting with a ball diff as I used a few parts from my TA06 for the M07. Including the TC sized shocks. Looking forward to a day down at Jackson again. Its been a while. The boys are excited to come back again and will be running their TT01 in spec classs.

Default Torque steer

My m-07 torque steers to the right under power from slow corners.
Seems like the higher vis diff silicones makes this worse. Any thoughts?

Could be uneven weight distribution, sounds like the front left tyre might be getting more traction. Thicker diff fluid will exacerbate such problems.

I agree. Less diffing with thicker fluid. On my m-05 I was running
a aftermarket (non Tamiya) fluid diff. I started at 1M and got down
to 10K which improved the drivability but it diffed too much coming out
of the corners. My M-07 has 30K in the diff. In a turn the car is going
to shift weight to the outside. Keeping the inside front tire planted
is the problem. My car tweaks ok. Wonder if increasing the spring tension
on the left rear would help. Think I'll try that and playing with the front
and rear droop next time at the track.

Run more toe out on the front. It will lessen the torque steer. I am using 300k in my oil gear and have no issues with torque steer on my M07.

Are you using sway bars?
That will keep the tires planted
