In a Word........YES!
That would have gotten people to stop thinking about the switch and concentrate on their '05 for the carpet season. Especially one of the biggest races of the year, Snowbird's.
It would also have pushed the shelf life of the 05 to at least a year.
I'm done with X-Ray.
Sold my '05 and sold my T2 before it was even built. I just woke up one day and said, what the hell am I doing?
Went back to my Pro4 that was on the shelf and couldn't be happier.
I'm no Hara no Jilles no Rheinard.
Let those guys be fast with the latest and greatest, they get it for free.
So why put up with expensive products that are hard to get from a manufacturer that considers the US a secondary or third market at best?
Right now I'm back with HPI and couldn't be happier.

Case and point is that no amount of letter writing is going to make the CNC machines go faster, injection molders faster, packing, shipping and most importantly CUSTOMS CLEARANCE happen any sooner. It is what it is....people wanted the car before the race and it was released. Now people are upset...they went so far as to post on their site about parts availability being scarce. People will ALWAYS read what the want to read....

Either way the T2 is an awsome car. Stable, TONS of corner speed and super easy to work on. Xray has outdone itself again.

SCOOBY-Best of luck with the HPI.

TO sum up in my opinion.

Awesome car,

and;

people ARE mad that spares are not available.

You can argue, mitigate, make fun, do whatever.

The conslusion is the same.

No one of them was at the Novak race. The other 3 were not but they were told that the kits coming in around the snowbirds would be for customers....So they bought theirs from Hobbyshops..

Like someone else has said anytime a new car comes out there are never spares to be had for a few weeks...Its the same thing over and over every new car. If I had to say one company is better at spares than others it would be Corally....they ususally have spares the same time a new car comes out...but other than that is usually a few weeks.

Would you rather companies hold cars till spares are done, release all the spares first so you can stare at them or continue what they have been doing with cars first then spares?

Im sticking with my 05 until the first few months are up and any errors or anything are ironed out and there is a decent setup base. That and i cant really afford to drop £280 on a new kit after i just put a new chassis on my 05. Doubt it will make any difference to my lap times either, the 05 is still a demon. Just get the new car to "keep up with the Joneses".

A solid top deck is not the same as a completely different prototype.
Either way you people need to lighten up they're just toy cars that we race for bowling trophies.

Simple solution...You DONT have to buy a new car just because its out...Wait till spares are ready then buy the car....

That would be like me getting a new motor in but since I dont have enough to fill all my orders I hold them till I get enough to fill all orders at one time....dumb from a business standpoint.

I am not too bothered, I bought one, broke it, so I bought a 2nd kit for spares. I am guessing this was not an option for some people.

I am not annoyed.

It is a simple fact that many people are dissapointed that spares are not available. they were excited about the new kit and when it broke and they could not fix it, they were sad.

Its emotions we are talking about here.

So they turn to the forums to vent.

Yes, they knew when buying the car that parts would not be available.
Yes, they could have waited.
Yes, Xray is working hard to make new parts.
No, no one forced anyone to buy the new car as soon as it came out.
No, no one forced anyone to run the new car and break it.

But dissapointment is a human emotion, and sadly, reasoned arguments do not dissapate it

That is what we are seeing here.

Hello All,

I am one of the guys in Virginia that broke an arm this weekend. It made me sick to my stomach. Not because I could not get parts, but because I ran the car knowing I could not get parts, and then ran her into the wall.
Even with the part support issue, I am (was) running well above and with much more comfort than I was with my TC4. Awesome car. I will just patiently await the arrival of spare parts and take this as a lesson for the future. This in no way changes my mind about Xray or the car. I have moved over to the Xray Nation and plan on staying. Just my two cents.

Please don't quote me out of context and read the whole post ! (I know you didn't "quote me" but you said in other words what i said), same goes for Scoobydoo.

To dawnmeat, what I'm trying to say is that X-Ray is a victim of the internet forums ! Back in the days, they'd have been able to test the car at big races without hundreds of people on the net saying they want the car out tomorrow.

It seems now people want the stuff right away, especially since we can see pictures of prototype cars, but just because a car's being tested at a big race don't mean it's anywhere close to be production ready. Production ready don't only means that car kits are ready, it also means that spares are available, which means some parts like wishbones, hubs and all the parts that are likely to break or wear out needs to be produced, packaged and shipped in amounts 3 to 4 times higher than the car kits are, even before releasing the car. This takes a lot of machining time, and in order to please people on the forums X-Ray have reduced the amount of spares produced before release, you guys should only blame yourselves.

So, maybe X-Ray should blame themselves, but maybe us forum people should also blame ourselves and be more patient when it comes to the release of a new car ! Oh and if you bought a T2 you should blame yourself for not being more fore-sighted, seen as X-Ray did say parts support would be low for some time after the release.

Well the point I tried to make is that it was because of people on the forums that X-Ray went in such a hurry to release it. As soon as pictures of the car were ready people couldn't stop thinking about the switch, just read the beginning of the T2 thread to convince yourself of that !
