Hi guys, I just finished building my 12r6, it looks amazing. I am installing everything new, as I want to keep my 12r5.2 as a full running back up.
I always ran a futaba servo, this time I went with a mks ds9670. None of my servo savers fit this servo, anyone know what servo saver works best for the servo/car?
Thanks

I'm just curious.. and not trying to "start" anything - genuine question/concerm.

I recently ran an Associated 5.1 & 5.2, one with the Xray, and one with the Kimbrough - and honestly, neither had any slop. At all.

And then, I started running VBC 12M's - and again had two - this time one with CF chassis and one with Aluminum. One had the Xray Servo saver and one had the Kimbrough. After two years, neither had any slop.

Question is, where is the slop you're talking about? I've had both and both did their jobs perfectly... just wondering what you mean.

No slop with the kimbrough for me. Maybe on a 1/10 car but not a1/12 Pan.

It's not so much the slop as it is the holding power. Cut the car on and try to move the wheels by hand. The Kimbrough isn't as strong and will allow the wheels to straighten up in a turn when you have high grip. Over time the Kimbrough will get weak and have less holding power.

Ahh, ok. I get what Rugspin was meaning now - thanks for the "detailed" explanation. 'Course, again, for me I didn't really experience that with either servo saver over ~2 years. And lets be honest, if either of them, the Xray or Kimbrough servo saver, do their job for two years and then need replaced then you got your money out of both of them. Wished my axle bearings (front or rear) lasted that long...

Just an fyi for those wondering about the xray servo saver. I put an extra stiff version in my R6 and it seems to be just fine. I have an mks servo mounted in front of the servo mounts. I have the saver mounted of the spline about 1/2 mm. Put a shim in between the saver and the servo. I also used the shortneck ballstuds. Pics below. I get plenty of steering travel, currently have it set at 22* on the outside wheel, but it can go more. It is about 15* on the inside wheel.

I'm using the xray saver in mine as well. Works well, I found that just a bit of sanding on the ball cup mounting surface was needed so the arms are parallel.

Has anyone tried the associated saver pn 8689? This looks similar to the xray at less cost. Looks like it may be a bit tall is all and may not work with the 12th?

Anyone know if there is a wider foam bumper that will fit this car? At least until I learn to drive it.

You can get the CRC Wide foam bumper and cut it down to your needs.

The bumper holes for the body posts don't quite line up. you will need to elongate the holes.
