Default Warmers and compound

Just picked up a set of Speedmind Tire warmers.. going to be racing indoors with CS-22's, so will the full 12V (55-68C) be overkill? Should I just hook up a 7.2V battery for the 36-42C? Or, run it 12V, get it hotter, and it'll give me more time between bench and race time before it cools down? Will overheating the tires do damage?

Also, I'm guessing you first put tire compound on, let it sit, wipe it off clean, then put the warmers on? Or do they both have to go on to soak fully?

On another note, found some stuff in this electronics/parts shop called "Rubber Renue".. smells rather pepperminty, might be the equivalent to the compounds we use? It's not cheap, though..

Thanks!

You could put on the traction compound first and put a sheet of paper towel over it then put on the tire warmer. Are you racing in the Magma race in FastCats? BTW, 36 degrees is good enough. Make sure that you don't remove the tire warmer until you are out to race.
