Mugen MTC1 Wiki:

MTC1 Manual on the Mugen Web Site.

Correction for the manual

The max/min tooth count of the spur and pinion combined.

64p = 127 to 164 total teeth

48p = 95 to 120 total teeth

People who have spare spur gears left over from other cars which they wish to use but can only utilize 2 of the 4 mounting holes, here's neat trick from MKAH to drill 2 more holes precisely in the spur gear:

1.Dismantle the Spur Holder and mount XRAY Spur with two screws.

2.If you have take a 3mm Top Setting Screw

3.Get the Top Screw in the first free thread to the Spur Holder from the other side until it touches the Spur a litle bit.
Make the same with the second free Thread.

4.Dismantle Top set Srew an the two screws witch holds the Spur on the Holder.
Now you see two marks absolutely central.

5. Take an 3mm Driller an Drill the holes at the marked places

6.Mount the Spur with the two old and two new holes on the Spur.

Spur Gears known to fit the gear holder with the correct hole pattern

1. Axon
2. Panaracer

Upper front arm hinge pin set screw tip (or any of the kit set screws):

When installing the set screw run the set screw in until you can see it come into the hinge pin gap. Back the screw out and make sure there is no flashing in the way and then the screw. Now slide the pin in and you should hit the pin and come to a dead stop. It will be a solid feel and not sloppy like it will not tighten which is caused by any loose plastic.

The C Hub are aluminum so I guess it makes up from the slimness...but it just seems like it would bend really easily if it ever goes into a hard crash.

I think the same. Plus, isn't cheap: 35$ each. But If I remember well, someone used xray c-hub. Anyonw did try it?

Save you money. In a hard crash these foil thin caster blocks DO NOT hold up. This thing twisted like a wet noodle. For their price it's not worth it to stock up on these. I'd rather have a molded plastic piece that's way cheaper than the thin aluminum. The performance gain was great but we all aren't pro's and accidents do happen. Before the normal fan boys get on here bashing me saying that they have had crashes and nothing happened to theirs......It happens and I'm just making people aware of it. Car was on rails in both forms yesterday though. In 17.5 and USGT.

I didn't want to pull the trigger until I found out the advantage(S) or disadvantages. I love all 3 of my MTC1's as is with Ed Clark's setup. So.....what can be expected with the conversion?

from my understanding it's for both carpet and asphalt. it's just an update to the car to improve on things. (another tuning option)

It is just an update, but a very good update except for the bendable c-hubs. it does make the car more consistent and easier to drive. But I watched the same hub bend that was mentioned earlier. We need to find a plastic replacement hub that can be bought for less than 60 bucks a pair. Maybe another manufacturer's hub has the same dimensions and can be used as a replacement.

Tried. Needs a different steering block as well, or cut down the standard mugen one, as its too tall to fit in the gap. Oh, and need to grind a little off of the arm as well as the C-hub itself, as its a bit bigger than the available gap.

Pulleys also appear a little larger. Might just be the pic.
