Default what kind of servo for 12th scale? please help!

i am going to be racing 12th scale, 4 cell mod on carpet, and i was wondering what type of servo should i get. from what i have heard a mini one is a good idea, however how much torque and speed is required or suggested? i am asking this since i couldnt find a fast servo with more then 30oz of torque and had metal gears.

so which models do the fast guys use? (since i hope to become one of them during the winter)

THe best srvo for 4 cell 1/12 in my opinion is the Airtronics 94145. it's very small, and very quick.

I've used the KO mini FET srvo too, but it's meant for a 6 cell car. A 4 cell pack doesn't have the voltage to power the FET properly.

If you can't find the 94145 at your local hobby shop, Tower and Horizon both sell it online.

thats the one i was looking at, but will 30oz of torque be enough to steer a 12th scale mod at high speeds? that was my only real concern. but thanks for everyone responding so quickly.

That Airtronics servo that Trips mentioned is the best on for 12th scale. It is smooth, fast and plenty strong for 12th scale. It is the model that most pros use. You shoud pay around $50-60 for it, I think. Stormer Hobbies is also a good source for servos.

Cant beat the 94145. I tried the Hitec 225MG. It looked good on paper but it dosen't center well.
