don't know what your amp draw with timing is???????? and FDR is probably way too high.you should start your FDR around 3.60s and timing around 42-46* and start from there.

I would start before even that.. describe what you mean by fading? Fading in the same race? Fading from start of session to end of session? How hot is it outside? Do you have a fan on your ESC and your motor?

Too much timing motor is over heating. Anything over 5 amps on a 25.5 motor is too much. Also motors like Team Scream are timed at 2.6amps and they are fast as heck.

That is a good point gearing too high or too low also is a factor in motor over heating and fade.

Absolutely correct... Overreving is just as bad as overgearing....

Why would you arbitrarily set all your motors this way? In all likely good you are over times and over geared. Are you running USVTA or F1? Most USVTA your final gearing is between 3.5 and 4 for most tracks and motors. And very rarely is timing more than 45 degrees on any motor from the factory. Tekin, and naval may not set the timing to a particular spot, but Motiv, Fantom, TS, and other race oriented companies set the timing at its optimum (or very close to it) spot before it gets shipped out.

I race VTA I've run Novak, Trinity, TSR, and I have a new Fantom but I haven't raced it yet. Trinity is the only one of those motors running the timing above 50` makes a performance difference. I check actual timing most of the above mentioned motors have a sweet spot in the 45` range. Timing the motor up is over rated I went down that path for too long at great expense and fustaration. I am positive after many testing and racing days it's in the gearing. It is the spur and pinion combination I have chased my tail used my friends some of the fastest guys in Central and Northern Calif, timing and gearing recommendation. I found gearing conservatively timing conservatively made the biggest performance gains on the track. Top end speed is overrated being pulled 3 or 4 feet down the straight away is nothing but being pulled 3 or 4 feet out of every corner or even a couple of corners will get you lapped.

I think you are referring to the video by Nick Adams. One thing to note about that video is that he is referring to 17.5 and 13.5 motors. Not sure if that makes a difference but I would assume it does.
