or maybe I think most of the guys on this list can be the solution to onroad racing. Everyone on this list is way better than the other 100's of us not on this list. So we call you our elite onroad racers. We want our IFMAR World Championship.

Might not be a popular opinion, but I prefer to see the list be the Top 25 drivers running Open/Modified classes at big races.
Yes plenty of guys who run USGT, 17.5 or whatever are super fast in general. But if we are ranking the best overall I prefer to rank them based on who's running modified.
The sad thing is even our top 3 cannot be true "Pros" making an RC salary. If you took the top 3 offroad guys it would reflect night and day financially.

These threads are more fun when they're more specific about class and surface. Too nebulous as is. How about:
Give me your top 10 North American mod touring car drivers in order based on the past year. Create a separate list for carpet and asphalt. Maybe do one for combined surfaces.
Do the same for stock (includes super stock).
