Qual Points For On Road Racing On Black Carpet

Qual points just make practice all the more valuble as qualifying is now not a "safe" place to make changes to your car incase they make things worse. Qual points are reasonable at races like IFMAR, but not really a good option for national level racing. You can make the argument that ETS uses them, but that series is on a wildly different level than every race in the US.
Keep qual points in offroad. Our tracks don't change so much that points are relevant.

Qual points.

Our tracks change a ton in the US.
We need to go back to qual points. If the fastest run in qual 1 does not make the A in qual 4 that is a true problem.
Example Dana's qual 1st run 17.5 1/12 time at US Indoor champs( largest race to date this year) does not qualify a top 10 spot in round 4. The track while it had a ton of laps was different every round.
I am not sure how you argue that in a rocket round it does not matter, Considering the 8 of the top 10 main setting results came from rd 4, 1 out of rd 2 and 1 out of round 3.... 7 of the B main times came out of rd 4, 2 out of 2, 1 out of 3. I had to go back to the F main to find a seeding for the main that came out of rd 1.
So if you screw up rd 4 well odds are not in your favor of qualifying near the top.
Now this is a example of 1 class at 1 event. It has been the pattern I have seen for some time. But again only one example

Basically Reedy style?

Qual points is about having each round count based solely on itself. x of y rounds resulting in over all TQ and main seeding. About the only thing qual points does is make each round equal regardless of track changes.
You will always have a break out, Crash, try something wrong, loose pinion, DQ in tech or post tech. Those are all racing deals and effect any form of qualifying equally.
You could also add ladder mains or heat races to the discussion lots of options on ways to qualify

It's the host track decision. Get onboard and support whatever they choose to run at that event. There are pros and cons to both, but it's the same for everyone. Racing is fun - remember?

Rob is stupid. Let's create more problems and eventually we shut racing down so we can all take up knitting. Its bad enough we have people whom hate each other in this industry..
#74

No, of you knit at an increased rate of speed, then you begin "splintering" the carbon. I hear xray makes graphite counterparts with pink handles that work well.

Lol
