I don't think you need the belt tensioner because the belt need to be loose to be free !! and on the picture on VBC website they dont have belt tensioner and the belt look perfect !

Guess I should've waited to get my FF17, would have saved myself $20 and got the TBBS shocks to boot. Oh well, I probably won't race the FF17 anyway... and may pick up one of the FF17 Dynamics in the Fall.

I just finished mounting the belt conversion. May be psychological illusion but it feels like the drive spins more freely. Looking forward to running it next Friday.

Did you have a chance to run your FF17, simple?? How'd it go with the belt conversion?

Free and fast, noticeably quieter. Our track is very tight, so it didn't feel like it had the same pull out of the corners. I noticed a slight comparable lag in acceleration. The oil I had in the diff was a little lighter. But I think belt would be the ticket for larger tracks, and gear for tighter smaller courses.

Thanks for the report and tip on tight vs large track!

- I now have two of the FF17's and may just build up one with gears and one with belt drive.

If you run a spool they would be... not sure where the point of diminishing return would be with thick diff fluid viscosity.
