First post with any substance and my first Tamiya in about 20 years. I picked up a 2nd hand BUGGYRA Fat Fox and am working on getting it put back together for some Tamiya racing spec. I really enjoy spec racing and there is at least one track in my are that runs the class, so that'll fun when the time comes.

As I said the Fat fox is second hand, so it is not perfect and needs a complete rebuild. I am missing a few screws here, the battery hold-down bar and the rear bumper. I have a large order of parts coming in tomorrow, then I'll be able to tear it down and rebuild it. Most importantly I have a set of bearings coming which I know these sorely need along with the proper grease for the diffs.

I need to source a couple Tamiya battery's as my local hobby shop does not carry them. So I'll need to try the online sources.

Lots of great information in this thread, thanks to all those who have posted.

What track are you going to be running at? You don't have to use Tamiya batteries to be legal, there are a few different choices that you should be able to get locally.

I am planning to make my way up to Access at some point, and hopefully race if they have enough Euro Trucks. I'd like to get a Tamiya spec pack to be able to legally run in a TCS race at some point.

Nice, that's the track I usually run at. Summer is pretty slow there, but I know this fall will pick back up and there will be quite a few Euro trucks running. I should be there this Saturday and would be happy to help you if you come out and need/want help. I sit at the first table before the race directors stand. It doesn't have to be a Tamiya battery for TCS, reedy wolfpack is one I know is legal, he other escapes me right now. I think the actual rule is as long as it fits without modifying the chassis, it's ok.
