From TCS General Rules:

"Any manufacturer’s radio equipment, servo saver, antenna pipe, antenna mount, pinion and spur gear, ball bearing, tire insert are allowed in all classes, unless exceptions are noted within class specific rules."

Tire insert is allowed?!

Quick question,
I took my Hahn truck out for some practice laps. Overall it drives really well, its stable, etc. However in typical Tamiya "friction damper" fashion the truck has a tendency to hop when coming into hard turns w/ a bit of speed. It doesn't flip or anything, but that hopping is surely going to cost me some time.

Curious what you all are doing to solve this, -given I have to adhere to TCS rules. Was thinking of cutting a bit of my damper springs to lower the ride height and reduce the softness of the dampers? Or maybe use hard Tamiya springs both front and rear? ...yet not sure either of these are legal to do?

-Edit, I guess we are not following TCS rules ...ours are even stricter.

Box stock, only change is bearings.

I think that as long as you use the stock parts, you could modify springs and such?

thanks,
...do you think cutting the springs a tad would reduce the bounce/hop effect?

Usually a decent pair of shocks alleviates the issue... but not an option!

I woild think that cutting the spring down would be illegal for tcs rules. I could be wrong.

eR1c, yes I think it would help, but as shmit 1 says... likely illegal.
How about that motor cover? Replace with fan?
And then there is the tire insert issue...
I hope some direction will come before TCS race next weekend.

if its not included in the box or written in the manual.....

couple that simple rationale with whats written on the TCS Rules.

this isn't RocketScience

When I ran TCS in Fresno. We where told you have to have the motor cover on but you can run a fan. Also no tire inserts or gluing the side walls.

thanks, ...i'll put it back on then.
yeah, I am not running inserts and didn't glue the sidewalls. My kit is literally box stock w/ exception of bearings (which our club said is cool).

Hello,

This question might be in the same thought/s of previous ones. I am also joining the TCS for Euro Truck and am wondering the following:

1) Can I pack the diff with grease/lube to increase/reduce diff action (front vs. rear)?
2) Can I grease the shock?

...or is "box stock" meaning "manual stock" and we have to build the kit EXACTLY as the manual specifies it?

Thank you! =)
