So my Team porion 4 pole 540 motor (800watts) in my schumacher keeps making my batteries.. swole.. fat.. whatever you call it. i race carpet only basically.
I have Orion 6000mah 100C batteries. They are fine now.. i think but for how long?
Any batteries you want to recommend?

are you sure its your setup?
I used to have batteries puff just by storing them in my garage ...my garage would get to 115fon the hottest days ...maybe 120f + ...i now put my batteries in a small fridge kept at 50f and haven't had a single one puff.

Team Powers 6400 100c is one of the best new generation packs I know of. The newest chemistry doesn't need to be abused to produce low IR. I run mod sedan, don't cycle and charge at 8amps and they still get into the 1.3-1.5 area. If I discharge at 40a, charge at 14a they will get into 0.8-1.
I have heard of people puffing batteries from temperature alone just traveling to the track although my packs come in from a run at 130-140F at times but for less than 10 minutes.
Always store them at a reasonable voltage even if you're racing the next day, 3.85/cell seems to be what most agree on. Most batteries will puff if left full over time.

I live in Norway as you can see by the name. They are stored at max 27 degrees celsius during a summer. Rarely over 20 during the nights here.
Im not racing btw.
Bougth these earlier today. 6500mah 150C rating.

Order some gens ace from elefun! I have som brand new orion 7200 batteries and they did last 10 runs before they got rounded. Have run gens for a whole year with no problem!

I have some older Gens ace and they are good. But surely even their top spec lipo is not that good?
Fjeld: i recognise you. Is there a track in Drammen?
Edit: damn. Gens ace has 140C burst. Looks like a buy and try for me.
If not i might finally try LRP

Hi
As many mentioned , how you store your batteries. Many go to work with the gear in the car , but in the summer it gets very hot in the car.
And how do you charge your batteries? I have a idea that your charger make den get bigger. Since I switched to a highend charger i had no problem. Have seeb many , not all have problems with ex skyrc chargers.
And also , NEVER over-charge. 8,40 is MAX , meaning 4,20 each cell

battery
don't discharge below 20% and don't leave them fully charged overnight and your batteries will last a long time.

My charger is maxing out at 5 amps. stops at 8.4V or less..
I need a program box to program ESC to check lipo cutoff. Its set to stock setting. Team orion ESC.

Most ESCs these days (and certainly top end ones like Orion) have a default Lipo cutoff set to on from factory. You would have to change the setting yourself to turn it off.
Batteries however puff for many reasons. I have Orions that have puffed up too. I guess the most important aspect is to make sure you discharge them on "storage" on your charger before you put them away, even for a night. I think this is the worst thing you can do, leave them for a long time with too much or too little charge.
I am not sure why our Lipos are so dang sensitive, it seems like every other Lipo on the market (and they are now in everything from laptops to cameras) doesn't have any problem with being neglected. Maybe it's the capacity and the harsh use cycle, who knows?

Been using an ORCA Infinite HV 6200mah 100C for over a year and a half, charging at 40 amps and discharging at around 30 amps and storage voltage at around 7.7 at at room temps....zero puffing, just bought 2 more....need I say more?
Edit: Charger is an I-charger 406 Duo
