Xpresso K1 by xpress
 

Xpress recently introduced a new chassis class, the "K" chassis which is an even smaller platform than the "M" chassis (tamiya M05). I was intrigued by the size and "cuteness" of the car and bought one to try.

Overall Im pleased with the kit. The included components were high quality and they fit together nicely. Despite the fact the shock bodies were made from plastic, the shock did travel pretty smoothly. The instruction manual was a pile of junk, tho, and there were a few times where I used the wrong screw or ball joint in the build and had to do my own investigation and trial and error. If it werent for that hickup I would of finished the kit. Cant wait to test this car on the track

Out of the box its a handful. Due to the short wheelbase and narrow chassis, as well as the stiff springs included in the kit, the car liked to traction roll on high speed corners. much softer springs would make the car much more compliant and lean in the corners instead. I had a blast running the car.

What body are you using on the car? I hadn't seen that as an option when I was looking for bodies that would fit.

The body came with the car as I bought it during their promotional release period. The body is made by Xpress and its called the K66. On their website they also said a few other bodies would fix, the Tamiya's WR-02 Jimny and Tamiya's LC40 found on GF01 kits. The volkswagon body fits as well, but Im not really sure who its made by.

These look like a lot of fun..

Will M-05 springs fit on the shocks? Also has anything broke on the car?

Today I'm having a look at the Xpress Xpresso K1 drift chassis kit, which is a 10th scale representation of the cars that fit in Japan's smallest domestic tax classed vehicles. After putting it together I can conclude the following: it's a high quality piece of kit, that is definitely a break from the norm in it's shape. The online instructions aren't the clearest, but with some logical thinking you should be able to work your way around any potential problems presenting themselves. Once assembled the Xpresso K1 chassis is a great looking and high end feeling platform that will do an amazing job in bringing some variety to the drift track.

So far I've gone through 2 belt pulleys since the stock one is plastic. I can't tighten the set screw too much on the pulley or I'll strip the threads so it keeps coming loose. They will have a metal gear as an option, but they should of included it as standard.

I've broken the rear hub from traction flipping the car too many times. Once I've sorted out the setting parts on the car are pretty durable.

Thanks for the replies, RC Mart is out of a couple spare parts I would like to get. I think I will order one once I see the parts I want are in stock. Shame no one in the US is a dealer, always takes a while to get stuff... Hopefully the metal gear will be available soon.

How's this thing been going? I know it has only been a few days.

These look cool. I was thinking about pulling the trigger on one of these for my first on road RC.

I wouldnt advise you to get this as your first. Stick with 1/10 4wd touring cars first.
