I found one setup sheet at the very beginning of the thread. It is for a car with the carbon chassis. Does anyone have a setup to share for a car with the aluminum chassis? I'm running USGT on black carpet, large sweeping track. TIA

Here's one that you could try:

VBC Racing WildFire D09 - Gary Lanzer - WCIC - Sakatoon - 29-09/01/10.2017

It's for a 17.5 but it should get you close.

Thanks. I'm overhauling a used kit that I bought and was looking for a good starting point after the rebuild.

A few questions about D09 parts if anyone can help. Suspension parts come as: V2, V3, Red, Gold, Silver, V3 D07 HD, Version 2 Composite, and Composite X. I'm planning on going Composite X high carbon red on everything except the steering blocks and uprights which will be Composite X silver.

Is there a breakdown of what all of the different offerings are and does my plan sound like a move in the right direction?

Finally, can anyone tell me the thickness of the zero offset hex wheel hubs? My kit came with the -0.5 4.5mm hexes. I'm looking for a way to narrow the rear with thinner hubs if they are available. TIA

A better shot. Story is that the diff that came with the kit I bought is wobbly. I bought a new replacement from TQ that has the exact same problem!

Vbc released new differentials that address this issue. I purchased two of them but have not assembled them yet.

So the replacement that I bought from TQ recently must be old stock. How does one go about getting a known good replacement, New part number?

Yeah, new pn. It is a new design. Larger shafts on the outdrives, larger bores in the housing.

Thanks for the info. That item (or any individual part) does not show up on the parts list for a Ghost18, D09, or D10 on TQ or GripworksRC website. Looks like VBC direct only.

Thanks again. Having just bought a replacement diff case from TQ, I wrote them to see what they would do to resolve the issue. I'm hoping that VBC will offer to send one of the new diff kits to purchase in lieu of the old diff.

Here's the fix. Part Number - D0312

From VBC: "This new gear differential set with new wide gear shaft technology proven to minimise centre misalignment and wobbling during high revs. The new gear diff housing shaft and bearing slots are individually precision CNC machined to provide minimal tolerance. The housing, internal gears and internal gear shaft are made with carbon injected CompositeX compound which provide lightweight, long lasting and rigidity. This gear diff set is compatible with all VBC WildFire series TC, Ghost series TC, FF18 TC as well as Xray T2/T3/T4 cars."
