Default Help me decide

Hi Guys,

I need some feedback on which charger to get. I am looking at the MuchMore Cellmaster and APS charger. I know the advantage of getting a APS is that it comes with a motor dyno.

The other advantage of getting a MuchMore is that it can charge LiPo packs. Now please dont point me to the charger review thread, I have already read it and I know both are good chargers, just want to know what is the best bang for the buck.

Appreciate all your feedback. I plan to pickup the charger soon

Its not that im not interested, the thing is I cannot afford that charger and I only have a 20 AMP Powersupply. I believe to get the full discharge function of the GFX I have to have at least 35 Amp Power supply.

do your homework (research). look at the websites to compare prices and features. the duratrax ice charger has great features at a great price.

Are you sure about this.I have a Eagle Racing 14A(max17a)Power supply.Works fine.
The reason I feel you should get the GFX is because it is upgradeable to current technology. When LiPo becomes the norm,I'm sure all you will have to do is send the GFX back, they will update it and send it back.
This at a fraction of the cost of a new charger.
Sure it's a bit of money but worth it.
If you are still not interested...I would get the Ice.For the money it's a great little charger. :
Just remember that the Ice and other charger that you are interested in I believe only have a 10A Discharge rate!!

Get the Duratrak ICE ! ....it has everything you're asking for ! ....charges Lipo, .....has motor break-in feature

....and a great Graph display during/after the charging cycle to monitor your battery.

I recently narrowed my choice down to those two chargers to supplement my Quasar Pro charger. In the end I chose the Much More due it's ability to both peak charge cut and temp cut with the provided temp probe.

As far as it's inability to do run in like the APS or Duratrax, I didn't want a dyno with my charger. I would rather get a standalone motor dyno so that I can have batteries charging and run motors at the same time. With a combined charger/dyno, you can do one and not the other. Again, this was my decision factor

You dont need a 35 amp power supply to discharge a pack at 35 amps. It's the pack providing that much power in a discharge.

the Muchmore has a discharger, the APS does not,

I would also have a look at the:

LRP pulsar 2
Eagle Racing V6.0B
Supernova Competition, (this has a very good set of features for the price)

you are better off looking at charger that can do almost everything

I like the Supernova Competition as it can do many things and is very good value,

charge up to 8A
discharge up to 20a
Lipo and li-io cells
motor run in,
graph the charge/discharge
temp sensor

Thanks all for your feedback. I went ahead and got myself the APS charger. I hope I will be happy with it. For now im just going to run my packs and worry about discharging it later.

I have one question though, if I have a MuchMore ZeroV tray, will this work for discharging?
