I am running on a track with newer carpet and very low grip, like driving on ice. Foam is not ran there so grip will not go up. An thing will help.

Are u running a traction compound?
If u are try changing your setup to get more bite.

yes I am, I am kind of new and don't know much about what different changes make. I messed around with springs and shocks. What should you change first?

I am sure the grip will go up if you and a handful of other guys run your rubber tyres with traction additive, Niftech, Jack the Gripper, TQ. A nice black grove should form in the carpet. Our track was like that. Driving on ice. We then allowed 1/10 scale guys to driveon our micro track. Oh boy what a difference did that make. Dropped 1.1 seconds from my previous weeks fastest lap.

What tyres are you using. I have found RP's 22's and 27's work good.

Thats kind of how it is the black is start to form, I am using cs-27s required for major races by me. I think they change the track every week so the groves might change, I am not sure.

It is a very tight small track.

What car are you driving? If it is the JRXS go to www.teamlosi.com and there is a icon you can click on that will give you set up sheets. Looks pretty good. Asphalte carpet rubber and foam set ups give it a try. They should be able to get you in the ball park. I am the same a s you just learning about all this set up stuff. I find it is a lot of trial and error.

I've looked there, there was a setup I was running that worked on a different track. I got the xxx main book but it does not work to well for me. Thanks for the input.

That is what I have ran in to also. Work one place but not another. They sound like good base set ups then you need to tweek it from there. Another helpful item I found was the book they include with the Hudy set up boards.

Maybe if you list you car and your basic set up another person who views this thread can give you some input

It really sucks because practice is only 20 min. so you can't mess around with much.
