What's a good gear ratio for the RDX?
I found the website for gear chart, and the gear ratios came up, on the rdx gear ratoi chart. What I want to know is, what is a good ratio to be in for indoor carpet racing? Im confused on the 6:1 stuff. Can someone please explain what that is, how you figure out, and what is too high or to low of a gear ratio? Thanks!

Gearing on Carpet really should be based on "Rollout". Use the rollout portion of Gearchart.com for your targets. If you are running a monster stock, they seem to like to be around 26mm rollout. For a C2 19 turn around 29-31mm depending on track size. Your gearing on foam tires is almost constantly changing as the tire size gets smaller. In reference to the "6:1" that is the final ratio of the Spur/Pinion/Trans Ratio combo. Divide the Spur by the Pinion and for the RDX multiply by 2.0 which is the internal trans ratio. It is how many times the pinion must turn for the wheels to make 1 full rotation. Hope this helps a little....
