Question for those running on black carpet.
I've been running at my local black carpet track and have been using a carbon chassis (with PCS) and have actually found it to be pretty good, but then again I'm not a super fast guy as I'm just getting back into it after many years away from onroad. My question is, would I find a big difference by switching over to the aluminum chassis?

I don't think so. I run Aluminum chassis just because looks good. I have run the carbon fiber chassis on black carpet before no big difference at all. I think the main advantage is having the extra weight on the aluminum chassis reduces the cg since any added weight on the carbon fiber chassis to make minimum weight will be above it. I think it would awesome if they would make brass screws for the bottom of the chassis to lower the chassis even more.

Whats the current thoughts on lo-pro batteries on medium to low traction surfaces? Yes or no?

brass is used as a fastener from marine to home to electric applications. Is harder than aluminum which some people use all over their cars. But I agree tungsten would be really good but is also very expensive.

Yes I am surprised nobody has gone down the Tungsten route, heard quite a few bending brass parts, which is not surprising as brass is pretty soft

I spent quite an amount of time last year looking into tungsten and mallory metal parts. It was so difficult to machine that manufacture was prohibitively expensive.

Can anyone tell me a steel gear set part number that will fit the 2018 BD8. Also if they would fit the BD7 2016 as I have had a couple diff gear sets strip. Thanks

Steel Diffs
I had same issues, swapped to older gears from BD5, seems problem went away...mainly on carpet.
