Does anyone know if the Advance battery tray fits the Ultimate?

Just got my kit done. This thing is a cow, usgt race trim weighed in at 1493g with no extra weights added. But after looking at how beefy the chassis and other carbon fiber parts are I'd sacrifice weight for durability any day. Can't wait to see how it handles.

I was going to ask you!
Closest I've got is kit setup with 1mm spacers under the front susp blocks. No matter the glue the front end bite continues to be unpredictable. I pretty well gave up last year at CarCar when they made the carpet switch, just started again and feel back to square 1.

The thing was on rails on grey, but it just seems to have to much traction on black.

You know the weird thing is that I'm getting different feedback about how the new black carpet is not consistent from one track to another. First club race is in 2 weeks. I'll report back with my results.

Different lot runs of the carpet. NASCAR's was from the second production run, wasn't as black as the first run. They assured us all 5 rolls were from the same lot, but one roll of the five feels different.

Pat, is this a quality control issue or a marketing issue?

CRC only is only advertising it as Fast Track 2. But maybe it should really be advertising it as Fast Track 2.1?

I think its like anything else. Manufacturing tolerences from batch to batch. Our 5th roll felt different from day one. It felt squishier, then the rest. After a season of taping and stretching it is the same feeling now but it took awhile.

Ive also been told temp and humidity really effect grip on the new carpet.

So last week, I tried black carpet with my Advance for the first time this season. I contacted 3Racing, and was provided with a decent starting point for black carpet setup. Using this as a starting point, I was able to run well. Durability was tested, as I got knocked around. It was understandable, as this was the first race of the season for many guys. Nonetheless, I was happy with how both cars handled (17.5 blinky & 13.5 boosted in open mod).

I went to Kelowna yesterday and picked up on where I left off with fine-tuning the setup for black carpet. switching back to kit springs (stiffer) gave my car better rotation & corner speed. The car has flex & torsion built into the design. Numbing down the steering, CA on the sidewalls, and stiffening up the suspension, helped the car go faster around the track. I'll make an effort to post a setup later this week.

Very happy with the platform!

Reflex racing made one for the xi sport. You might ask them.

My 2.5mm chassis plates arrived - just after the Big Chill.

Really though, I have been very pleased with how the stock chassis reacts to black carpet so far. So I'm not in a rush to swap to the thicker chassis just yet.

Default Sakura Advanced Setup (Black Carpet)

Had a big race this past weekend. The car handled very well. Predictable, aggressive when it needed to be, but never had an issue with traction rolling. Good corner speed, and plenty of acceleration.
