Hello sorry for my rather basic questions but Ive decided to try onroad this winter. Ive gotten a sakura ultimate 2014, from what I can tell its the model before the advance.
would I be able to use setups posted for the advance as a base? or is the geometry and weigh balance two different? not finding anything for carpet for the ul14.
obviously being new setup wont matter much just like to get pointed in the right direction.
ill be mostly running grey carpet unless I end up trying a wcics race but that is doubtfull

It uses big bore shocks, so it's probably similar to the Advanced. Check out setups for the Xi Sport also, as the Sakura cars share a lot of parts.

Default MTS T2 vs 3racing Advance

Deciding between the MTS T2 n 3racing Advance. Appreciate honest feedback if you've experience with these 2. Thanks!

Depends where you are getting your spare parts and if anyone else runs the car locally.

I went the Sakura route because parts were available from several online vendors I regularly frequent.

Good point 10zeros. If parts support being equal, which car will be a better choice?

Either would be fine. The mst appears to be a bit older.

What is your opinion on it all? Where do you race and what classes do you run?

To me it's all something new so I've no reference point. 😀

This will be me first tc. I run off-road, F1 n M Chassis.

For tc I'll be running both mod n stock, depending which track I'm at for that day.

I purchased this kit from RCMart 3 weeks ago, and my kit came with steel outdrive cups instead of aluminum. Great kit for the price.

I'm going to have to give this setup a go. Still having high traction issues as the night goes on. When you list the downstop as 1mm over ride height, are you 1mm of up travel in the front before the wheels lift, or 6.4? 1 Seems low and 6.4 seems high, however! I haven't tried...

And the sheets don't list, but I assume you are running the stock shim width for the inner tie rod mounts, with the rear outer on the furthest from the rim mounting position (shortest link)? The 2mm noted if for the inner mounts to lower roll center?

I'll take pics of my car tonight or tomorrow. Yes, I have been running very minimal droop in the front. Car handled well but I did notice that I could use more corner speed. If you notice better results with different droop setting myself, please let me know.

I finally got around to installing my 2.5mm chassis and it felt stiffer, like it had more corner speed now. My brakes were a bit soft, so I think I can enter turns a bit hotter and use more braking - I also switched out my Orca vx3 for a Scorpion ESC when I swapped to the 2.5mm chassis plate.

I am being told that the Turnigy TD10 V2 not the original is the same as the Ultimate kit, is that true? Would love one for VTA racing o 2 of them and at their 70 bucks a kit could pick up kits and stock up on spare parts from tq
