I came across a OK 2015 chassis that's carbine fiber and want to set it up for black carpet. Any tips besides gluing front tires?

I'm planning on upgrading a '16 to a '17 spec. I've gone for the Yeah Racing 2mm Equal Flex chassis and bought the motor mount plate, carbon brace and servo mount for the '17.
Has anyone ground down the top of the '16 motor mount and lay shaft holder by 1mm? I was thinking of trying this as it looks like there is enough material and would save buying the '17 parts but still give the 1mm clearance from the top deck.
It's a shame I couldn't use the '19 mounts with the smaller bearing but I don't think they will fit as the motor was moved in by 1mm.

you should have bought a 19 chassis of u want to use the 19 motor mount and plate.
the biggest advantage on the 18/19 is the ULP shocks. Not the motor mount.....

I still don't know if it's the chassis or the mount that has moved or both?

New to the Xray family. Trying to get a jump on the upcoming indoor season. I bought a T4 '19 and am now hearing that with the ULP shocks I may not be able to get the proper ride height range with VTA tires. Some suggested creative mods to the ULP shock mounts and spring seats as well as different shock towers (Yeah Racing and T4 2018's none of which have the hole for the pin on the '19) but I don't really like any of them.
My question is, Since the '17 has the SLP's and not the ULP's, is the '17 a better way to go to get the proper ride height range for VTA?

I ran a 17 up until recently in VTA. I’ve seen 19s with the regular shocks and towers, and I’ve seen 19s with the 17 shocks and towers as well.

Could you use a 18/19 chassis on the a 17? Is it just a matter of changing the motor mount? Or is it the lower motor mount plate? I forget which one it is...
