I can gurantee that FEMCA wouldn't have voted for 2s, as FEMCA had put in a proposal for 1s Blinky Open motor for mod... which got altered to 13.5 blinky 2s somehow!

I think that the change to 2S isn't bad in general, but what IFMAR proposed/implemented is silly at best. With the change to to 2S the torque doubles and the electrical power quadruples and therefore a 7.5 or 8.5 are way more suitable than the 5.5 open.
I expected to see 1/12 make a wheely with 2S 5.5 open and Josh prooft it with his video.
Some guys at our track running 2S 13.5 boosted, but I have to admit that the power delivery doesn't look smooth with this setup. This can be related to the boost setup, but still.

2S is rediculous, I raced 6cell 1/12 in the late 80s-90s on pavement, we had more sidewall, more flexible chassis, worse aerodynamics save the TOJ & Intrepid... it became a nightmare then as it became a motor and battery war...so many left and stayed in Pro10...seems like a bad idea. I have not raced 1/12 since 95' but how are new racers even supposed to grow into this class on 2S???

New racer should start with 17.5 1S or 25.5 2S blinky.
On the end we have to find a middle ground between 4.0 boosted and 6.5 blinky.
The first one is to fast and the second one is full throttle around the track(at least at the IIC). The best way is probably 1S open motor blinky or 2S 8.5 blinky?

Pic for you Colin. These would look great on a 17.5 car....let everything else run in the 13.5 or mod..

Rubber tires will fix everything.

I cant tell if this joker is screwing with us or not.

If you think mod 1/12 is hard now, wait until bright ideas like this make it 'easier.'

Seems like I should be screwing with you. So, this question is not a joke. Do they now run rubber tires on the modified touring cars? Haven't they replaced foam on the F1 cars? Has WGT now been taken over by rubber tires. Well, 1/12 is next. It will slow the cars down and make racing better. That to me makes the future "bright."

Plenty enough of slow classes with "bright futures" already

If 12th scale dies because it's "too hard"

GT12 bodies and rubber tires ... great idea if we want to kill the oldest electric class once and for all.

He deterred any further 2s testing.... I was the only one with a 2s car and it needed work after that run.

I agree 1/12 will be the next class to get rubber tires and is already in the works. However I really think this will kill it. We all see how long it has taken TC to get the cars to work with rubber tires after foam, and really they still handle like $20 Radio Shack car.
I really really hope it doesn't go this direction, but I am afraid the ball is already rolling.
