Default Best ESC - LRP, Novak, or Futaba?

Hi all. I'm upgrading to a mod motor in my touring car, and I'm looking for opinions on the best speed controller. The three I've homed in on are:

Futaba MC800v2 (low cost option)
Novak GTX
LRP Quantum Comp2 (pricey)

What do ya'll have to say?

I like my GTX. It works well and is easy to program (provided you keep the manual on hand to know which set of lights is which). I also like my Quantum, but the low BEC isn't very friendly with the Spektrum system I'm now running. I'm going to replace it with a Tekin G10 pro+

Default Sphere

Not on the list, but I've really enjoyed my LRP Sphere. Brushed/Brushless, Forward/Brake or Forward/Reverse.

Lots of options.

I've looked at the Sphere and the Novak GTB to have the ability/versatility to run brushless motors. But what are the advantages to brushless motors, besides obsoleting my comm lathe, and are they legal on raceday?

Yeah, I too love my Sphere for it's ultimate flexibility: forward, reverse, brushed, and brushless. It's footprint is a tad larger, but doesn't weigh that much at all (0.87 oz). With a custom made connector, its very easy to change between brushed:

and brushless:

An ESC like the Sphere somewhat preserves it's value a little better for the future since brushless racing is inevitable. Right now, you'll find mostly everyone is still racing brushed motors, but many clubs are now racing brushless. This will only gain popularity in the future since they are more efficient and are maintainence free. I bet in a year or 2, you'll see a lot more brushless activity.

I've ran the Q2 and Gtx. Both are excellent speedos but I stay with the GTX since I also use the spektrum. As far as the brushless speedo you can't go wrong with GTB. I have two now and no problems. Being able to switch from brush to brushless is worth getting a brushless speedo.
