IMHO, with front diff configuration it would let drivetrain slightly free while cornering, while remain direct torque transfer (no slight delay such as Front One-way) to front axle
there is no center diff self-locking mechanism (Torsen, etc.), so I think its simply free diff,
on low grip track, I believe center diff without Limited slip system will transfer all motor torque to the axle (wheels) with lower grip and no torque transfered to axle, this is unwanted circumstance..
there is benefit on high grip track, with front Diff and rear Diff (with identical internal ratio Front and Rear), this system may give better traction over solid layshaft..

Full scale or offroaders is another question.

The first Kyosho Lazer Zx had a ceter diff like that, it didn't work and racers switched to a rigid pulley. I think Peak performance made one.

sweet, another diff to rebuild.

I think that guy is going to quit the project.
