Default ESC Help

Hey guys I seem to be having some problems with my LRP AI Running Reverse whiles driving after about 5 mins it keeps cutting out and the car slowly comes to a stop the servo still works but no throttle? it has a built in fail safe so is it my radio or receiver? how can i test to make sure all is running right?. It also has to set itself up every time I start the car?

It could be that the ESC is overheating and shutting down, but then cooling down and starting up again. Try gearing down or using a slower motor and see if that solves/helps the problem.

i bought another esc off a mate (Nosram Patriot) and it worked great for 2 or 3 days then today i took my car out and it was going great then all of a sudden it slowed down completely to just a very very slow speed like i had a dead battery but it wasnt stopping then going like it does when the battery is dead. i had a look at the plug that goes into the reciever and it looked like those metal plates had bent and pushed in could this have caused the problem?

It's either a False Peak, Dodgy Heat Thermal Sensors inside ESC, poor connection in Channel 2 (ESC) and maybe even between the motor/ESC.

I suggest using someone elses Reciever and replacing the ESC/Motor connections with Deans Plugs if you haven't already.

Are you sure the cells are charging correctly? It just sounds like your dumping....

I have an M.Troniks that cuts out when the voltage drops even if theres still enough capacity in the battery to finish a run. it will just reset and then start up again. But you say yours is slowing down as if the cells are dumping.... Maybe thats exactly what it is. Cells dumping.

Okay, when you first turn on the ESC, what happens when you give it input? Does the car begin to accelerate at all or do you have to give it a slight nudge to get it going?

ok heres what you do you could (1) unsolder your motor plugs and rewire them because it sounds like your motor isnt recieving enough power,(2) Put everythign back together and go a lower pinion because it might be thermo cutout.
(3)Buy new brushes for the motor because i had this once it was a hung brush but it was slipping to the comm and then pullign away.
(4) if it still doesnt work i would go get someone else at th track to have a look at your charger or even try another battery because yours might be stuffed.

If it still doesnt work buy a new speedy ..........Novak GtX................

Hey Guys,

I had one of these ESCs and had the same prob,
in my case it was the thermal protction cutting in because I had slightly overgeared
my motor. I changed my gearing to something really short and it was fine.
Hope this helps
