Gearing

I am new to 1/10th touring and 1/12th pan racing. Does anyone know of a good guide for gearing ratios and what they mean?

General guides are a little difficult, since you adjust gearing to your motor and the track you're on. Also for 1/12 you need to think rollout instaed of gearing (since tire diameters on foam tires vary/change).
