I was thinking of picking up one of these when they become availalable. $83 for an AC/DC when I already have a great NiCd/NiMH charger sounds just about right to me. I can't see why this charger wouldn't work for this application and it seems a heck of a lot simpler than the others.

There's also the MRC 989 coming out that looks interesting but I can't find any real specs on it.

I looked into the Indi 16x8, but they want over $200 for it, and now that I have brushless, I don't need the dyno/comm lathe/motor run in features anymore. So it looks like I'm going with the ICE. I just wanted to see if the balancing charger would be a worthwhile investment for the $140 battery...

I have a pack but I am waitiong for my new advantage chargers before running it. The chargers I have for my planes max out at 2.5A and that would not be ideal.

Yeah, there is plenty of room...just like all the other battery down the side cars.

The foam block is a stock deal...the only thing I changed was to flip the outer stick-pack holders around. They're curved on one side and flat on the other...I rotated them so that the flat side is towards the pack and it fits like they were made to go there.

Here are some pictures of mine. I had to take the tape off the cover (b/c shoe goo melts it). I shoe-gooed some pieces of plexiglass to the bottom to help hold the battery into the battery slots. Not very pretty but I guess it works. The pictures show it without the tape holding it in. I might need to put some plexiglass on the side to help it hold better.

Default Sounds like lipos are the way to go.

since you only need one pack to race. Maybe this will help keep costs down and get this hobby growing again. That will be nice. I'm hoping for a brushless/lipo/spec tire class for carpet. Now that would be nice.
