I see "Propo." Is the part before that "KO?" A KO Propo XS3? Weird... The buttons are most definately different. Maybe KO just bought the design from JR? or relabeled some units they bought from JR...

I agree...it looks different....but the add says its a JR... I honestly dont know, but I see why your questioning it........

I believe JR markets their products overseas as "JR Propo" as opposed to "JR Racing" here in the US

I don't want to get ripped off. |
Old radio system, same level with Sanwa (Airtronics) MX3S
I have one, mine is JR Propo one (40MHz base frequency version) JRXS3 with JR Racing printing --> 27MHz version and JR Propo --> 40MHz version... hope this helps.. |
JR Racing, JR Radios, JR PROPO and KO PROPO are interconnected, i.e. partner companies. ;)
|
JR Propo is the proper name....Nowhere in the photo does either of the radios say KO before the "Propo."
All the airplane guys that use JR products have stickers that say JR Propo on them. Also...my JR 550 race servo says JR Propo on the label... It's just a slightly newer model without all the old silkscreening and such...you should be fine.... However yes...there is a connection between JR and KO...but this has nothing to do with it... |

Mine is 75 MHz. |
JR Propo is the Japanese version of JR. It is JR but is a Japanese version so good luck with warranty.

Is it possibly similar to the difference between a Futaba Magnum and Megatech? Essentially the same, just that one is intended for the global market rather than the US. A lot of times, people will sell the stuff that isn't intended for the U.S. market here (via import) for a slightly discounted price. It's usually referred to "grey market," and often doesn't include a warranty.
Of course I just drank like 18 gallons of beer, so it's possible that's been mentioned by now and I totally missed it. P.S. My grey market Megatech 3PK was had on eBay for super cheap without a module or receiver or any of that crap, which made it a perfect combination with the Spektrum. w00t! :-) |
Its a JR XS3 made by JR. Its from the eastern europe market. You wont be able to get it serviced anywere except in Asia somewere. Its the same deal with Futaba Megatech stuff. Its branding to keep markets seperate. If you took your JR Racing product to asia they probably would not work on it.
This is what I was told by a rep. |
Jr has always been JR PROPO here is a link http://www.jrpropo.co.jp/#
the radio is not a knock off.. from what i understand it is the latest version, and It looks better to me so im sure they made an upadted version with a little more flash.. everything in the picture is The same as every other JR product.. I havent seen any Knock offs of any Mid to high end rc radios..EVER.. |
