what about them? If you were talking about fitment, they should fit no problem w/o modifying chassis. The development of pullrods had been in the talk for a while long before they announced EVO chassis.

Which length is the correct one to retrofit to the first gen car, manual for Evo starts at 36mm,is that the same as 14mm installed length that was standard for old car. Assuming that the molded ones as measured total length, but which one for needed right height

You're talking about rods that go horizontal, right? Original 4x says 14mm which is only for the exposed portion of turnbuckle. And yes the Evo one is the total length of the substituted turnbuckle. Is there more than 1 length available? Manual is just one length. It's only the linear links that come with different lengths. And those are the ones you can use to adjust ride height.

Evo on the way It was a difficult decision but I chose the Serpent over the Awesomatix and Gizmo. All 3 "exotics" are very attractive but in the end the Serpent just tickles me the most. It's also probably a better fit for my local track which is fairly unforgiving to driver errors. With my collection of top standard TC's (T4'17, MTC1, RX10SR), I will be rotating my TC lineup throughout the summer - pitting them against each other (mostly in USGT trim). Point being that this beauty still has to earn it's place as my go to chassis.

I pick it up this Friday at my LHS and I'm wondering if I should boil the new pull rods in water to lessen the chance of splitting one? I don't know if they are made from the type of plastic that responds well to boiling?

Just started the build but already l have to say that pictures do not do this car justice. The parts are tiny!

So last year, as racing was ending I bought a 4x with a 17.5 system. I’d only got a short bit of time with it on proper surface. Finally got chance to run it again on prepared surface over weekend.

My question is what is a good starting point for gearing? I’m currently running just what I had after damaging a spur gear over winter, risks of running unprepared surfaces.

That track looks prime for FDR of 4

thank you. Space is roughly 100x40. From timing line to first turn was 60 feet. They change the layout every couple races. But straight is usually similar in length

Just an FYI for people who are struggling with ride height but want to use longer pull rod lengths. You can increase your ride height by increasing the length of your heave damper. You can retain the spring characteristics by adding a shim at the bottom of the spring to offset the increase in the length of shock. Today I added .5mm to the damper length and added .5 shim and now the ride height for the front and back max out at about 5.5mm.
