Hobbywing XR10 Pro ESC any good?
#16
Sorry, stupid question... What do you guys mean by "boosted"?

Short answer: the opposite of blinky.
Long(er) answer: modern brushless ESCs can eletronically alter the timing of the motors, which can increase power, RPM (and heat). This feature is pretty much only allowed in modified/open classes any more, since most stock classes require blinky mode (no timing by ESC allowed).

In the UK the most widely entered class in nationals and regional racing is 13.5 boosted. But we race a lot on the larger outdoor asphalt tracks, so it lends itself well to the extra speed.
We used to run 10.5 boosted at my local club, it's quick, almost mod quick.
