I know the Reedy Sonic M3 25.5 is the spec motor for the Tamiya TCS F1 class. I haven't run one so I'm not sure how it compares to the Novak or other motors.

I run a Team Scream 25.5 motor which I qualified third with at The Southern Nats last year. We run 25.5 motors at The Gate with faster lap times. I'm pretty sure most other big races have also gone to 25.5 as well.

the USVTA rules for GT says...."21.5 + 2s lipo batteries No tuning rotors, must use OEM rotor".....after looking into some motors that are OEM....Ive decided thats thats a to broad of a rule....some motors come with 12.3,12.5. and even 12.2 rotors....some company offers green red and purple color rotors.

so to make this simple and keep the "i bought this with a tuning rotor, it came like this"....

all rotors can not be larger than 12.5 mm in diameter

RE: 25.5
The Reedy motor comes with a 12.5 rotor, so it is not to ROAR spec from the box. The Schuurspeed should be within specs, but it has not been approved. Maclan (formerly Viper) is supposed to have a motor as well.

USVTA rules will be clarified soon, expect it to be pretty much the same as the "UF1" style rules with ROAR spec 25.5. As it was pointed out the 25.5 thing got big last fall, so nobody knew what would happen going forward. Having been to several races with 25.5, it looks like the right option for good racing at an acceptable speed.

It will be up to Myron what he wants to do
