Default Lap Counters

Is there a program that counts laps by hitting a key assigned to each car? Someone said they used to have those kind of programs. I was wondering if anyone knew where to find one.

They're all over.

Autoscore has one - http://www.west.net/~autoscor/ - This one is used by a very large number of tracks around.

JLap is a big competitor. IFMAR has used it for a couple of races now -

There are others. Do a google search for RC lap count program and you should find a bunch of returns.

For basic lap counting, your finger! These both work off the numbers on the keyboard.

For better, automatic lap counting, they will need some type of transponder system, such as the AMBrc transponder system. They tend to be expensive (although there are some smaller ones out there. . .)

But I've seen a lot of races counted with only finger counting - SoCal Raceway counts all of its off-road racing by finger.

Default Finger counting

I was at one race where the computer wouldn't work so Finger counting (Literally) was used.

Thanks for the feedback guys. That Autoscore one is perfect for me! I found an old laptop that has windows 3.11 on it and it will run Autoscore in dos mode. Now I can take my laptop into the woods (where my track is) and be able to have accurate results! Not to mention how many different features it has. Thanks again!
