This is going to sound like an odd request, but after spending some time trying the R12C3.1 over the past couple of months, my one big hope for the new car is that it doesn't pop wheelies quite as easily. For some reason (my current guess is pod and overall car length) the R12C3.1 pulls wheelies like crazy on the new CRC carpet, which makes the car rather difficult to drive in mod.

i thought having front external "shocks and dampers" was illegal for 12th scale pan cars for some reason.

The R12C3.1 won Worlds with inboard springs and damper tubes, so clearly IFMAR is ok with it. As far as I am aware, there are also no ROAR rules against inboard/non-kingpin front suspension. The rule I think many people get caught up on is only for rear suspension:
8.7.3.5 Rear suspension and drive:
Single, one-piece drive axle only
No independent suspension allowed.

When the new version car actually becomes available for purchase somewhere on the planet, can someone please post that info here? The 3.1 edition car that I've been playing with lately is absolutely fantastic. So, if the new one improves even just a little on the current version, then I'll be quite the happy 1/12th scale camper.
