I have been running the X-ray diff on crc carpet and have had good success with it. I run 100k in it, and it is a great middle step between balls and a spool. The car will rotate, but doesn't want to step out on power as bad.

Outdoor season startes yesterday and I went for my F6. It ran nicely on carpet and I wanted some challenge on asphalt I decided to go with my F6.
Drove new Ride ETS wheels (so there shouldn't be an issue with the tires) and our local fast guy drove my car really didn't like the car. Steering seems okay but the rear is nothing near planted. Acceleration out of corners is bad, because the rear is very loose.
I tried to adapt to a medium grip little bumpy track:
- 10k in tubes
- blue side springs (have the Tamiya Set on hand)
- diff as light as possible
- black shock spring (oil should be 40wt?)
Softening up the rear helped but still not easy and nice to drive.
One big issue I have is ride height:
Rear gets the +1 inseei and I end up at 5ish mm height. But front? How to I manage the front?
Have no shims in the front except above the inline steering blocks (like the manual does). I had 2mm and needed to go up to 4mm shimming to get at least a little more than 4mm ride height. But that kills all the droop? It's just 1mm or so?
What I don't understand: how can the setup sheets on petitrc rc have 4,6mm ride height with just 1mm shimming above the steering block? Do they have shorter standoffs?
Or any other idea to get more rear grip? Don't know the current front end settings but it should be a mix of different petitrc setups.

Gearing change. Started off, was getting a lot of traction roll unlike previous week. But slowly improved as day went. So far I’ve cut a second off each week.

Dumb question, but how do you adjust rear pod droop? I have looked at the manual and searched threads, and I am not sure. I know shock length plays a part, but do you have to rebuild and add shims in the shock body if you want less droop? Or is it by adding washers under the rear shock mount to raise the height of the ball? If that is not a droop adjustment, what does adding/removing washers on the shock mounts do?

Anyone having issues blowing up the left side flanged bearing on the rear axle when using the Associated rear axle spacers? I had only had one bearing failure after a number of hard hits to the left side prior to adding 2mm spacers to each side, then I had two fail in one day after. I think the spacers puts all of the load on the inner race, so if you make contact, that is the only place for give.
Has anyone else experienced this? What is everyone else using for axle spacers front and rear?

Unfortunately, that is the way the axle is to be assembled on the bearing. Any hard hits like you experienced are going to take out that bearing. You can look for a thrust bearing that will mount to the outside of the bearing carrier and then shim your axle width from there, but I don't have information to share with you about the part number for that thrust bearing. I know it would be around 5mm inside diameter, but it would need a large enough outside diameter to catch the bearing carrier instead of going into the axle bearing. Just going to have to stay off that hard wall.

This will spread the side impact across 2 bearings instead of 1.
