Just finished building the roller...

The F6 is every bit the kit that the X1 is - own both the X1 2016 and X1 2017. I diverged from the kit build by floating the entire servo and steering bellcrank. Post a pic or two soon...

Nice build experience without a single issue.

So raced mine for the first time and had some fun. My only problem now is the front wing is now bent down on one side.

Dip it in boiling water, gently twist it straight and let it cool. Do not cool the wing in cold water. Repeat until your wing sits flat again. This is problem with most F1 wings.

A few other small mods / adjustments.

Got rid of that pesky nut and ballstud on the outside damper tubes. Used an identical shock eyelet (31700) and pivot ball (4637) that's used throughout the rest of the kit. Nice and clean.

Also used a standard 3x8mm button head in lieu of the 8mm setscrew for the tweak springs. Provides a vertical and stable platform for the spring thumbscrews. Use a little Tamiya anti-wear grease and they won't move without the help of your thumb.

Unless you use the Tamiya f104-j wing. Never bends, raced mine for over 2 years before I replaced it because it finally got a crack in the wing.

Those Tamiya wings are hard to twist. The best in the hobby for sure.

Yep, best wing I've used so far for a lot of reasons:
- super light
- very durable
- sits higher so it never rubs the carpet or gets stuck under boards
- narrow - doesn't stick out too far and interfere with tight corner entry
- cheap
- looks good with narrow rear wings
