Call associated, they are aware of this problem with the inserts and pivot balls!

Had the pivot ball binding issue on my Roche too. Opening up the arm holes fixed it.

The manual is now available online. Since mine is assembled it's a bit hard to see.
Lack of spares on hand made me reluctant to work on them too much. I've been known to get carried away polishing the old metal balls. They're cheap, so it's not a big deal to get a second set just to be safe, but I needed to have mine complete by Wednesday night so I just did the old pop them in and out repeatedly trick to make them front end functional.

Put a little toothpaste in the cup, snap the ball in and work it around with a hex wrench inserted into the pivot ball until it seats completely. Flush out the tooth paste and put in some light machine oil. If you don't like the thought of toothpaste any mildly abrasive buffing compound will work.

LOL, does anyone not use an XRAY servo saver though? Xray could stay in business selling only these life saving devices.

It looks like you can order the PF15 straight from Protoform or wait for your LHS to get it back in stock. It also looks like the PF14 is not available on the Protoform website, only the 13 and 15 are listed.

Go easy on the sanding of the ball joints guys. Mine was snug at first but after 3 packs it freed up and was real smooth. You might end up with too much slop in the front end if you sand it to much. Just fyi.

Since I haven't built my car yet not sure what the issue is. On the pivot balls aren't they set by the castor and camber bushings? Which means to me the pivots don't move. Are are we talking about the kingpin not sliding thru the pivots smoothly?

Caster and camber are determined by indexed bushings, but the arm still has to pivot up and down as the suspension moves. And these balls captured in the pivot ball bushings. It may be a slight movement, but every little bit of friction counts.

It looks similar to the Xray X1 assembly and I noticed assembling that, if the screws through the pivot balls were a little tight, I would notice more friction in the movement of the arm. Any chance this is part of the problem on the F6?

That's not Myron, That's me, Will Sheffield. My Reedy Powered F6 was a beast. I wish I could of took the win but hey it was my first time racing F1. Still the car was great. The new Reedy Roar Spec 25.5 ran strong for me and never faded the whole race. I can't wait to race this thing again.
