Default Legal bodies

For Roar sanctioned races, the body must be on Roars list of approved bodies and trimmed and painted to Roar rules. (no blacked out windows)
I doubt many parking lot races tech bodies these days.

The Accord is one of the best in the steering dept. But with a small sacrifice in rear downforce.
The type of R/C car body can REALLY make a huge difference in the way a car handles. Just try running without a rear wing and see. Some of the Rally bodies can be undrivable on a road course when compared to a more "normal" sedan body.

The Yokomo Stratus Type-A and the HPI Stratus have most steering. The Protoform has the least amount of steering. I believe all are legal.

So I take it that the HPI A4 Quattro body is not ROAR legal...right?

Default According to ROAR

According to Roar rules. The body must be a 4 door sedan and Roar approved to race in Roar sanctioned races.
Unless you are racing on the National level, I wouldn't be too concerned. Use a body that pleases.

hpi's website labels all of their bodies for legality. check it out. of course many run yokomo or protoform bodies so i'm no help there.

i've heard that the new protoform stratus (2.0 or something) has tons of steering. However, the accord is notorious for tons of steering.

Proline's bodies go in this order

stratus (old one) has the least steering
vectra has a little bit more, but is very similar to the stratus,
the accord has a lot of steering.

The yokomo type A stratus does have a lot of steering as well and I believe it is made by Andy Jacobson. If not, then they are just similar in handling out of pure coincidence b/c the Andy's type A body (stratus) has a lot of steering as well. His bodies are offered by trinity now, though.
The thing is most people stick with one company or two. There are many bodies and no one seems to have tried them all.

As pointed out, the first thing that makes a sedan body legal is that it must be a sedan (4 doors). Most of the 4 door bodies out have been apporved for racing, but (as also pointed out) most tracks don't tech bodies for club racing (last week, I raced against two Ferarri's in the expert class).

As for steering, Andys Honda seems to give the most, but the rear gives up some downforce because of it (see below). Out of the Stratus bodies, the Trinity Reflex has the most (also with the least amount of drag due to a roof line too low to ever pass tech). The Yokomo Carpet Stratus is the same as the Trinity carpet Stratus, they use the same mold. Andy made all of Yokomos bodies until he sold out to Trinity and they renamed the bodies (the Trinity Honda is the same as Andys Honda which is the same as the Yokomo Honda). Hope that helps...
