If what you said was true, then endbell timing adjustments would be meaningless. The endbell timing setting doesn't affect the feedback EMF when run in sensorless mode.

Some ESCs can be configured to only use the sensored operation for low RPM and switch to sensorless for high RPM, but that's not how ROAR approved blinky operation works.

Why would you want a motor to switch to sensorless operation at high RPM anyway? Does it actually run smoother or faster without the sensor? I thought the whole point of sensored motors was they run smoother and more efficiently because the ESC knows the exact position of the rotor at all times.

If you want more top speed, make the pinion bigger or make the spur smaller; if you want more torque, make the pinion smaller or make the spur bigger. You don't need a chart to tune gear ratios, and it would be useless anyway because whoever would make the chart wouldn't know what motor you're using. This is a hobby; do some trial-and-error.

I'm running at 17.5t. I guess you're right, I probably won't get that rip out of the 17.5t, but I saw others at TamiyaUSA run 17.5ts and they seemed way faster than my setup. I'll learn, I'm still new at electric, used to nitro with 2 speed trannys, but electric is another world, very fun world though.

DG what spur and pinion are you running also what motor and timing are you running maybe you are not far off or maybe you need a good starting point?

I am running 80 spur/43 pinion. Hobbywing Justock XR10 ESC paired with a Hobbywing V10 G2 17.5T motor.

The interesting thing about gearing electric motors is that the tradeoff of torque vs. speed isn't linear as the gearing increases. Higher gearing keeps the motor in low RPMs longer, and at low RPMs the motor has less electrical resistance, allowing more wattage to pass through and make the motor work harder. So a higher-geared motor is actually a more powerful motor, and that means when you gear-up for speed you don't sacrifice as much acceleration as simple arithmetic would lead you to believe.

Also.. when the car racing at 1444g vs cars at 1350g min needless to say there is a big disadvantage

I don't even look at the amp draw anymore, I only look at motor temps.

I had a Maclan 25.5 that was pulling between 7-10 amps, but coming off the track at 130F.
