If the R was out when I got mine I possibly would've got the R but I'm not upgrading. I've bought some hopups so its close enough to the R now that there is no point. I also picked up some of them on sale or secondhand (but basically unused, that was lucky) so it was a lot cheaper than the R. The R still needs all the stiffener options, so while it comes mostly upgraded it still needs money spent. The RS7 conersion would be good on mine now though, that would probably bring the cost of mine close to the R, maybe a little over, but its a far better car by then.

I think if I was to buy one now it would be the Pro or the MS (or TRF419) as the R seems to sit in the middle but not really stack up.

Yea killer discounts on the 419x($325) and xr($375), XR conversion($125) aswell if you already have an X

Who is selling them that cheap? The best I have seen is around USD480

Is the Aluminum Servo Horn, Tamiya part number: 54121 the correct upgrade for the plastic one?
its listed as an upgrade part, but then looking at the description, TA07 isnt listed.
