asphalt or concrete???
hi all:something i'm interested in knowing and that is why are all outdoor roadcourses and most outdoor oval tracks asphalt? :weird:
|
'cause it holds better than carpet under the rain, lol.
Are you asking why they are aspahtl and not concrete, or why are they all made of concrete/asphalt? I don't know how about over there, but here, asphalt is the only way to go (I live in Costa Rica, with an 8 month lasting heavy rainy season, and about 5-10 earthquakes a day), concrete cracks in a matter of days, rendering it unusable. |
I think asphalt has more bite so tracks would logically be made of asphalt. If you tried playing in a concrete basketball court its slippery. :tire:

Concrete tends to have less traction than asphalt. Also if you spray anything on concrete for traction it gets absorbed into the concrete and doesn't help.

hey all:thanks for the info it realy cleared that up

Asphalt has more grip on rubber and doesn't eat your tires as quick when you run it on concrete.
 :tire: |
Okay, I'll add to this; why not tennis court surface. Most tennis courts are ultra smooth and the price has to be similar. I remember running my car on that surface before and it felt pretty good.
