Default CVDs and weight

Hi all,

My TI cvds are slowly giving up the ghost and displaying rapid wear in my tc4, i have new in a packet the original cvds for the car, they are heavyer by a few grams but they dont have any play or slop, my ti cvds do have a lot of slop, like the wheel turns nearly a quater turn before the transmission moves. So should i limp on with my lighter slopy cvds or put in the heavyer new cvds, will i notice a loss in speed because of the added weight or will i find the car better because it has no slop in the transmission?,
