mm the recommended cut off voltage is 0.9/cell but the tekin is 0.5/cell so will it affect the performance or some other stuff? also for the matched pack the cut off voltage is 0.9/cell so do i need to cut off at 0.9 or its okie to go lower?

is the novak flatline discharge tray any good? or am i better off using a much more zero-v?

is it ok if a put the battery directly to a equalizing tray right after running the pack and discharge it down to 5.4v instead of discharging it with a discharger(ce turbo 35 or its likes) down to 5.4v? will this harm my batteries?

thanks!

the flatline would be great for packs that are dead shorted from begining of their use.

otherwise go for the Tekin batt doc its better for IB's a perfect for anyone that hasn't Dead shorted their pack from Day 1

Let em dispell the little rumor that IB3800 cells don;t like beign taken below .9V

I have been deadshorting my IB3800 EA cells....(same cells as SMC) for months with no adverse affects except for a smight lose of runtime. When you run 19T and Stock runtime usally isn't an issue.
Deadshorting is hold the pack down to 0.0V For those who did not know.
They are just like the GP3700.. same effects...
VERY HIGH VOLTAGE AND SICK PUNCH....
Here is my maintance...
Charge pack is run....
Put on spintec Battery Manager/discharger till finished.
Next day if I am tired...or that night
Place pack in either 030 or Much more Zero V for two -three hours or until pack reaches 0.0V then I place a wire led from + to - and pull pack out of tray and store untill next race day. If the next race day is more than a week away I put back into the pack 500mah then store till 4-5 days before and then do the 030 or ZeroV.
On race day.
Remove led from pack and place it on the charger...I use the Much More Cell Master as it has a Peak lock out for the first two steps in step charging profile.
Then race the pack...
MAD PUCH for the whole race...no fading of power until the 6minute mark in 19T...so they are good to go in 19T and stock...IMHO
This maintance it commen for people who Deadshort.
So please no flame...If you have never tried it than you do not KNOW...
Even matchers will tell you the newer IB cells are much more resiliant..

These have been my experiences and not pure fact.

I need some advice for 3800's and my 0-30.I only have a 0-30, no equalizer or turbo 35 etc.I run 19t and mod, so what would be the best way to maintain these cells. As of now I
1.Use a charged pack
2.Put on 0-30 till lights go out
3.When ready for next use I use 0-30 for 3-4 minutes then charge

Is this okay or are their any better ways?
After step 3 I have been going straight to charge; should I wait until the pack is cool or just charge as soon as I 0-30'd it?
If you would suggest an equilizer(if needed) what would be a nice cheap one?

Thanks
Steve

hi can someone explain . I use both the spintec batt manager and the novak smart tray but am looking to replace the novak with the teamwave but im concerned that the spintec takes the cells too low to make the teamwave useful as it only goes down too 0.7v and the spintec despite saying 0.85v per cell actually seems to go much lower (i currently use the novak set to 0.3) i currently use GP3700 but will soon be making the switch to IB3800 or 4200
Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks

This is an IB3800 question.

Seems like it's best to equalize to 0.9v/cell. Would it be better if the tray discharges to 0.9v/cell and continue discharging without going lower than 0.9v/cell or it's best to just shut off once 0.9v is hit?

NOVAK SMART TRAY:

When in DS mode(dead short). The pack is at zero volts when all led's start to flash together right? Why does novak suggest letting them go for 15-30 minutes before removing/apply short from pos to neg? The moment the tray starts to flay all leds is it not at zero?
