It was my first time attending a large event like the Novak Touring Car Champs, and what a awesome and well run event. All the tech , Snackside and hobbyshop people were great to talk to and very helpful. And Scotty, what 1st class person and fantastic race director. He spells out the rules in the drivers meeting and thats it for duration of the event. The RC community needs more people like him. We will definitely be back next year. Thanks.
I would also like to thank 1fastdude for the help before and during the race.

No doubt about it, Barry Baker's car (brushless running in modified) locking up at the end of the straight, with Blackstock nailing him from behind at close to 40MPH was THE crash. Baker's car didn't just roll to a stop, it just stopped dead in it's tracks at the end of the straight. I heard and saw the crash, but didn't personally see the "skid marks" that Blackstock reported left on the carpet in a last millisecond attempt to avoid disaster. The best comment I heard afterwards was - "Gee, I didn't know that the new associated rear end option was an xray front bumper/front end." Absolute carnage. Certainly nobody's fault, just one of those racing things. Poor Scotty never had a chance to yell a warning of "dead car at the end of the straight" before BOOM.

That was pretty spectacular...but the 6 foot skid marks were from Barry's car when the motor locked up....Blackstock never seen him because it was behind the pole and never lifted.....That was probably the hardest hit I have ever seen or heard... Broke Barrys top deck, both rear alumn standoffs and quite a few other things but not sure what....

and yes Barry you are the Tom Cruise of RC!

Scotty did get a yell in when Eric Derossier's LRP brushless died at the end of the straight infront of Lemiux we almost had a repeat

Scotty is definatley the MOUTH when it comes to announcing..I like the fact he will make the guys in the G main feel like there in the a just the way he announces.. If your a spectator, its going to make rc so much more exiting..There isnt another person out there even in the same league.. they think they are but there not..

Although charlie did do a good job when scotty was running.. His comment in the last main made me lauch..

i dont know whos car it was but he says something to the order of the car having a push.. then he says well maybe it a new way to cool down the tires..

burbs: Well said. Scotty is the man. Every R/C track should have one. Unfortunately there can be only one. "LUCKY!" Sure would have been cool to attend his race. Maybe next year.

This was my first big race... all I have to say is WOW!
Scotty and Trackside puts on an excellent event. From him knowing EVERYONE from the moment they walk in the door to where their pit space is, to having parts, organization, everything was just amazing.

All we kept talking about on the way home is how our track should run like Trackside!

Thanks and I'll see you next year if not sooner in Vegas!!!

Thanks
I don't have any video, but I have some sore shins from getting nailed by Burch's car when he nailed the sweeper in one of the 19t mains.
