If this is true then that's cool. I think the BW is a great car and see no reason to change anything but I have owned just about every car 12L4, T-Fource, 3.2R, Q12 & REV. 4 and there is alway's room for inprovement. I am looking forward to running the BW and seeing what it's capable of. Please post up if you have any more info on an updated version, I would be interested to see if an updated car performed better.

Tony

I don't ever recall a Delta car using that link front end ever. What car are you referring to?

Actually I think Greg Sharpe may have caused the confusion here. MJCExtreme meant Jim Dieter the designer for Trinity who possibly designed their link front end. Hence a Dieter front end.......

Incredible good when wll set up apparently (according to David Spashett
) but very temperamantal and doen't like bouncing off of the boards... L4 front ends are very strong.

Oh, my bad. I got this car mixed up with another. My reference was to the other front end, which I first saw on a Delta car ~20years ago. Sorry! Just gonna gather up my bucket of confusion and drag it back over to the JRXS thread. Have a nice day!

The Delta Spyder circa the late 80's had a double wishbone/monoshock front end as pictured below. It does share some very similar parts with the Dieter front end that was released by Trinity.

Does any know exactly who designed the front end on the Spyder?

Nick

I stand corrected. I completely forgot about that car. I actually had a chance to buy a NOS P12 not too long ago and didn't have the cash to pull the trigger on it. I'm still kicking myself.

My guess would be that Ken or Dave Campbell had most, if not all to do with that particular front end. It does have a few major differences to what we now know as the "Dieter" suspension, but there are definitely some Delta parts/designs used in the Trinity front end, that's for sure. Delta was one of the true engineering pioneers of our sport. Hints from Delta shocks are everywhere, Delta peak chargers gave rights to Tekin as a company, and many of the great 1/8th scale gas cars of the 70s were all Delta designs.

Very cool old photo of a P12 Spyder.

Wow, thats cool and goes back well past my few years of knowledge. At a British 12th national last season they had a huge collection of vintage 12th cars, i shall try to see if anyone has pictures. There were so many ideas and even a chain driven 4wd one from memory!

Crashby, to be honest I'm not sure. I think it's a CEFX body but I will ask Ron Atomic, that is where it came from.

Mad props to Nick-C not only for knowing the car, but also for having a pic of it! Where'd you find that?
